As you might already know the Space is fucking mind-blowing. Basically everything that has anything to do with Space is amazing, which kind of means that everything is. Anyway some guy used the VISTA telescope in Chile and took this amazing 55 hour long exposure showing 200.000 new galaxies. And even more crazy, this is only 0.004% of the sky. The best thing is that you can actually download the 17000x11000px 187megapixel image as a huuuuge .jpg! Anyway, more to read from the guys at PetaPixel

“This photo is what you get when you point a massive 4.1 meter telescope (VISTA in Chile) at an unremarkable patch of night sky and capture six thousand separate exposures that provide an effective “shutter speed” of 55 hours. It’s an image that contains more than 200,000 individual galaxies, each containing countless stars and planets (to put the image into perspective, the famous Hubble Ultra-Deep Field contains “only” around 10,000 galaxies). And get this: this view only shows a tiny 0.004% of the entire sky!

The original image measures 17,000×11,000px (~187 megapixels) and can be downloaded as a massive 250MB file.

Some nights ago when the weather was shitty (as usual in Amsterdam) I remembered I still have like 75% of the vacation photographs left to go through and fix. Should really have done some other stuff but it was seriously like 2 months ago I opened Photoshop just for something else then resize layers and adapt the file for a .aep project. Its nice just getting some tunes on, or maybe a nice podcast and just remember how got damn nice it was with two weeks off everything with good wether and food. Enjoy.

Happy 2012 everybody! Took a lil’ trip to London over the new years. Really good time with Reimers, Thea, Emil and Johanna! Met some new dudes as well! Anyhow, enjoy the images. As usual more at the flickr.

So, for not been on this thingie lately quite a lot of things has happened. For one which I am really pumped about is this new project at work, gonna be pretty intense now when I go on vacation for two weeks but hope we will prepare it enough so the freelancer can take good care of it while I’m gone!

Also moved to a new adress! Columbusplein 24-III is now the new place and carrying up all the stuff to the third floor was kind of a bitch. Specially after 4 hours on IKEA. Holy fuck how i hate that place. I seriously become like an angry dad, trying to hit people with that little cart.

Anyway, the hard working weeks have really made me looking forward to me and Mathildas vacation in 10 days. 2 weeks on Zakynthos in Greece. Gonna be nice getting away from the shitty weather in Amsterdam and just do nothing for a little while. Have beers for lunch and get some sun!

From that vacation to an other. Took me quite a while to edit some images from our earlier vacation this year in Gothenburg. Will try to check this blog more often. Enjoy more as usuals on the flickr

Bought a new charger for my camera yesterday, been missing taking some photographs now and then, just bring it out on the weekend or something. Anyway this guy is a huge inspiration for me. Seriously, everything is quite beautiful. Look in the “Blackout” series, might be my favorite. Just inverted images of huge mountains.
