I’ve known Fanni Metelius, the director of Hjärtat, for a while and I when we met throughout the years I was always very curious to talk about the process of making her first film. Creating something that will be showed on the big screen has always been a dream of mine. So when I got the question if I could work on the titles I got very happy and excited to help her.
I started off by sending some style frames of how I thought it could be represented. When she decided for the direction with the smoke and volumetric I knew this project was going to be both experimental and challenging. As the render times for this however skyrocketed with the software I was using we had to change to another software completely and re-learn it from the ground up.
In the end we created four different types of fire/smoke that was slowed down to almost 5%as you can see in the closeups further down at the page. The visuals were going to present the feeling of almost flying when you're in love with someone.
