During my time at Edelman Deportivo I had many opportunities to be a part of projects in the early stage, often before it even was a concept. This project was one of those kinds, Tele2 wanted to create something in connection with the Swedish indie band Kent´s last show. Since the band has been around for almost 20 years and releasing over 10 albums they had a huge following group of fans being devastated about this event being their last farewell.
So, with that in mind I came up with an idea about having a huge memorial place where people could light a candle and look back at everything the group had given them. Together with the bureau Obscura Digital we were able to create this interactive wall right next to the concert. The audience could send a text and as a result they could see their candle getting lit and later slowly burning down as the show was about to end.
The fans had already arranged a huge march, walking from the city centre of Stockholm out to the venue where the concert was held. There were even real candles handed out with the information of lighting a digital one when arriving to the show. In the end there were about 20.000 people visiting the interactive memorial that night with around 2700 digital candles being lit.
